EFFICACY OF SOFT TISSUE LAVAGE WITH AMINOCAPROIC ACID IN REDUCING POST OPERATIVE BLOOD LOSS FOLLOWING TOTAL HIP ARTHROPLASTY

Blood loss is a common feature in the surgical management of orthopedics pathologies. The volume of blood loss during the peri-operative period could impact the outcomes of the treatment, post-operative rehabilitation and recovery of the patients. This study seeks to determine the efficacy of the intraoperative wound lavage with aminocaproic acid as a means of reducing postoperative bleeding in patients undergoing Total Hip Arthroplasty.
