Russian Folklore. From the Traditional Mindset to its Modern Communicative and Didactic Dimension

The main purpose of the present article is to analyze the traditional Russian mindset in the folklore materials through the prism of a synthetic and interdisciplinary vision. The traditional Russian folkloric mindset is examined in many different semiotic systems: folktales, the epic poetry, proverbs, and contemporary references. The article may serve as a tool to achieve cultural competence in Russian folklore, an integral element in the teaching/learning of Russian language to a Spanish-speaking audience. It can also prove useful in the teaching and practice of translation.
