THE IMPACT OF VOLCANISM ON THE LANDSCAPE AND POPULATION OF ICELAND

The paper describes the influence of intensive volcanic activity on the relief, composition of soils, rocks, natural waters, the nature of the vegetation cover, the atmosphere and climate of Iceland, as well as on livelihoods of its population. The author makes a conclusion about the determining impact of volcanism on natural and cultural landscapes of the island.
