СРАВНИТЕЛЬНЫЙ АНАЛИЗ КОГНИТИВНОЙ РЕГУЛЯЦИИ ЭМОЦИЙ И КУЛЬТУРНОГО ИНТЕЛЛЕКТА РОССИЙСКИХ И НИГЕРИЙСКИХ СТУДЕНТОВ В УСЛОВИЯХ МЕЖНАЦИОНАЛЬНОЙ КОММУНИКАЦИИ

В условиях осуществления образовательной деятельности в международном вузе важно знать и учитывать культурные различия в проявлении и регуляции эмоций, которые могут стать барьером на пути к позитивному межкультурному взаимопониманию. В статье представлены результаты теоретико-эмпирического исследования когнитивной регуляции эмоций и культурного интеллекта на примере сравнительного анализа выборки российских и нигерийских студентов. Результаты проведённого нами исследования показали различия в проявлении культурного интеллекта и стратегиях когнитивной регуляции эмоций у российских и нигерийских студентов, выявили взаимосвязь компонентов культурного интеллекта со стратегиями когнитивной регуляции эмоций. Российские студенты проявляют более гибкое вербальное и невербальное поведение в процессе межкультурной коммуникации. Они чаще приписывают произошедшим событиям глобальный масштаб, склонны преувеличивать негативные последствия случившегося. Российские студенты при регуляции эмоционального состояния сосредоточиваются на интерпретации значения события, фокусируются на собственной негативной роли, склонны к самообвинению. Нигерийские студенты отличаются более выраженным осознанием себя как субъектов, включённых в чужую культурную среду, мотивационной готовностью к взаимодействию с людьми других национальностей в чужой для них стране. Они не склонны катастрофизировать жизненные события, легче принимают и справляются со стрессовыми и негативными событиями, которые стараются анализировать в позитивном ракурсе, с позиции религиозных убеждений.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF COGNITIVE REGULATION OF EMOTIONS AND CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE OF RUSSIAN AND NIGERIAN STUDENTS IN TERMS OF INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION

In terms of educational activities in an international university, it is important to know and take into account cultural differences in the manifestation and regulation of emotions that can become a barrier to positive intercultural understanding. The article presents the results of a theoretical and empirical study of cognitive regulation of emotions and cultural intelligence on the example of a comparative analysis on a sample of Russian and Nigerian students. The results show the differences in the manifestation of cultural intelligence and strategies of cognitive regulation of emotions in Russian and Nigerian students. It has been revealed that there is the relationship of the components of cultural intelligence with the strategies of cognitive regulation of emotions. Russian students exhibit more flexible verbal and non-verbal behavior in the process of intercultural communication. They often attribute the events to the global scale, tend to exaggerate the negative consequences of the incident. In the process of regulation of emotional state Russian students focus on the interpretation of the meaning of the event, focus on their own negative role, prone to self-blame. Nigerian students are distinguished by a more pronounced awareness of themselves as subjects included in a foreign cultural environment and they are more motivated to interact with people of other nationalities in a foreign country. They do not tend to disastrous life events, they accept and cope with stressful and negative events easier, trying to analyze them in a positive light, from the standpoint of religious beliefs.
