Influence of a Magnetic Field on the Microhardness of Nonmagnetic Materials

It is shown that the microhardness of nonmagnetic materials depends on their preliminary treatment in a magnetic field. The dependence of the microhardness on time after “magnetization” has a nonmonotonic character and contains a pronounced maximum at t =4 days for magnetically treated KDP crystals, 3 days for thermally-and-magnetically treated KDP crystals, and 2 days for magnetically treated samples of ADP and Al. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.
