Principles of comparative semantics and their potential for innovation in the context of the theory and practice of the foreign language teaching

The article is devoted to the objectives and principles of comparative semantics, its historical roots. The paper analyzes the relationship of comparative linguistics and ethnically oriented methods of teaching the language. Special emphasis on the possibilities of using classical ideas of comparative linguistics in the methodological theory and practice.
