Synthesis, Structures, and Properties of Cobalt(II) and Copper(II) Chloride Complexes with 3-Phenyl-5,5-dimethyl-5,6-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-a]isoquinoline

Coordination compounds of cobalt(II) and copper(II) chlorides with 3-phenyl-5,5-dimethyl-5,6-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-a]isoquinoline (L) were synthesized. Crystal structure of [CoL2Cl2] (I) was determined by X-ray crystallography. The L ligand is coordinated to the cobalt atom through the nitrogen atom in the position 1 of the triazole fragment. The complexes were studied by IR and electronic spectroscopy.
