Evaluation of the initial phase range for transfers in the vicinity of a large space debris

The paper is concerned with the problem of finding the initial phase range for transfers in the vicinity of a large size space debris. We give algorithms for determination of both the optimal phase range, for which the transfer costs are minimal, and the admissible phase range, for which a transfer can begin earlier, but all the available budget of summary characteristic velocity will be exhausted. The proposed solutions include analytical and semi-analytical formulae that significantly simplify the precise numerical calculations providing very good first approximation. © IAEME Publication.
