Constructivism in practice: Web-based task-focused teaching language for specific purposes

This paper introduces an approach for combining web-based teaching with task-focused teaching language for specific purposes (LSP) in the course of blended language learning. Specialized information technologies (IT) that professionals use in their activities contribute to this approach. Along with traditional collaborative aspects of web-based language teaching the audience's attention is focused on individual aspects of this process. The author's experience in teaching legal English for Russian lawyers-to-be is analyzed to provide for concrete examples to support theoretical implications the article starts with. © 2009 IADIS.
