Stress fields in the surface layer of composites with spherical reinforcing grains on cutting

The stressed-deformed state of structurally-heterogeneous medium appearing under mechanical treatment of composite materials with spherical shape of reinforcement has been simulated. The polarization-optical procedures, special means and model developed for the investigation, and also the final element methods are used for research. The stress fields obtained experimentally are used in order to graph the relationships between the maximal tangential stresses and cutting depth. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2009.
