Piecewise-linear Lyapunov functions for linear time invariant systems

The piecewise-linear Lyapunov functions for linear time stationary systems are studied. The characteristic of an asymptotically stable linear system is introduced that is defined as the minimum number of generatrices of a piecewise-linear Lyapunov function. The from-above estimations of this characteristics are given.
