Investigation of two types of collisionless linear dampings of electromagnetic waves in a non-homogeneous magnetized plasma

The space damping of EM waves in a magnetoactive plasma caused by the electron cyclotron resonance (ECR-damping) and the damping as a result of linear transformation of waves (LTW-damping) was experimentally measured. It was shown that under identical conditions the ECR-damping is considerably more effective than LTW-damping. © 1972.
