The role and legal nature of local self-government development

The article is devoted to the organization of local self-government in the Republic of South Africa. Based on the study of the regulatory framework of recent years governing the exercise of local authority, the authors of this article analyze the main provisions on its organization, in particular, issues related to the definition of the legal nature.\r\n\r\nThe purpose of the study is to identify key points and create a starting point for further study of this topic within the framework of scientific, law enforcement and legislative purposes.
