THE RESPONSIBILITY OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

Transnational Corporations and their products surround us everywhere. Undoubtedly, we can't imagine everyday life without them. For example, Apple, Unilever, Samsung, Nestlé, McDonald's products are used by millions of people every day. Certainly, the activities of TNCs can positively affect the economic state of society and the states, but TNCs in the production process also have a negative impact. Thus, TNCs sometimes violate the norms of international environmental law, the protection of human rights, and most importantly children's rights. The main legal problem is the absence of international legal responsibility of TNCs for violations of children's rights. That is why in this article will consider international legal sources that establish the responsibility of TNCs in the field of child protection, and their role in regulating the activities of corporations. Important judicial precedents of TNCs violations of international norms and the sanctions applied to them will also be analyzed.
