Plant-based diets, animal agriculture, and the connection with urological and planetary health

<jats:sec> <jats:title>Purpose of review</jats:title> <jats:p>We summarize the latest evidence regarding the impact of plant-based diets on urological and planetary health to facilitate patient counseling and research regarding dietary intervention.</jats:p> </jats:sec> <jats:sec> <jats:title>Recent findings</jats:title> <jats:p>Studies have highlighted the association of plant-based diets with a lower risk of multiple urological conditions including prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and nephrolithiasis, as well as benefits for planetary health.</jats:p> </jats:sec> <jats:sec> <jats:title>Summary</jats:title> <jats:p>Plant-based diets are associated with numerous benefits that co-promote urological and planetary health.</jats:p> </jats:sec>
