Wood Pellets and Their Role in Bioenergy in Algeria

As part of the ongoing research to replace fossil fuels, biomass represents the first to be the energy of tomorrow. Once dried and then compressed to reduce the moisture content and increase their calorific value, wood derivatives such assawmill residues, wood powders and other chips can compete with fossil fuels by entering into the composition of fuels or by powering thermal power stations. While there is a very strong demand for biofuels Algeria, where the raw material exists in abundance, can be one of the players in this booming industry.
