Summary This article is devoted to disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), which often occurs in dogs as a result of trauma, shock, infectious and parasitic diseases, extensive surgery, and is characterized as a disaster for the body because of rapidly increasing hypoxia, acidosis, intoxication, and hemorrhagic diathesis. Maximum effort is required of a veterinarian to prevent the development of this extreme condition.
