The authors have developed an innovative technique of thermal-electric production of high-viscosity oils. In this technology the mass of the collector containing high-viscosity oil is heated by means of passing electric current through it, while the oil is used as active resistance. This causes the emission of Joule heat, which heats the collector and softens the high-viscosity oil.
