The Cross-disciplinary Concept of Nonlinearity as a Tool of Scientific Competence Formation Ideas of Natural Sciences as Instruments of Development of Rational People Thinking

Certain nonlinear phenomena are studied locally as a part of different scientific courses in high school (e.g. mathematics, physics, astrophysics, chemistry, biology). However, at the same time, certain characteristics of the nonlinear phenomenon are not generalized, and the whole idea of nonlinearity as a general cross-disciplinary category with a paradigmatic scale is not developed. As a result, students might have an idea that many natural phenomena have a unique and even mystical (i.e. irrational) character with no rational explanation of it. Here it is suggested to integrate the specific characteristics of certain phenomena not only based on the mathematical generality of their descriptions but also based on the physical grounds of their similarity and behavior. In my opinion, behind all these, there should be not an equation but just a simple idea. And, to my mind, this idea, when we will finally discover it, will appear to be so wonderful, so natural that we'll all say to each other: "That is so beautiful! How can you see it in a different way."
