The appeal to the works of John Galsworthy (1867-1933), one of the greatest British writers, a representative of the classical literary tradition, due to the fact that he considered the novel as a powerful means of social propaganda. The central theme of Galsworthy's work is forsytism, i.e. the issue of property. Foresights judge relatives, love, surrounding world and evaluate art, first of all from the point of view of «property». The analysis of practical material showed that the lexeme «Home» was used in the text of novels 81 times, «House» - 98 times. The concept of «Home» in J. Galsworthy's artistic picture of the world is not only a spatial concept representing the orientation of a person in space, but also a concept reflecting the social and psychological (reflexive) position of a person relative to culture (within/outside culture).
