Copper(II) chloride complex with5,5-dimethyl-5,6-dihydrotetrazolo[5,1-a] isoquinoline

Copper(II) complex with 5,5-dimethyl-5,6-dihydrotetrazolo[5,1-a] isoquinoline [CuLCl2]n has been synthesized. X-ray crystallography showed that the complex has a polymeric chain structure. Ligand L is coordinated to the copper(II) atom through the nitrogen atom in position 1 of the tetrazole ring. The coordination polyhedron around the cooper(II) atom is a strongly distorted five-vertex polyhedron. One corner is occupied by the nitrogen atom of L, and the other four are occupied by bridging chlorine atoms.
