Synthesis and reactions of 9-hydroxy-(α-alkoxycarbonylalkyl)-4-azafluorenes

The Reformatsky reaction with 4-azafluorenone has given 9-hydroxy-9-(α-alkoxycarbonylalkyl)-4-azafluorenes. The course of this reaction with respect to the α-haloester used, and the conversion of these hydroxyesters into hydroxy- and α,Β-unsaturated acids have been examined. © 1991 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
