В статье исследуются основные направления, этапы и результаты процесса диверсификации экономики Королевства Бахрейн в ХХ веке. Автором показана основополагающая роль нефтяного сектора и государственной политики в процессе диверсификации экономики страны. На основе проведенного исследования автор приходит к выводу, что процесс диверсификации в развитии Бахрейна начался в 1980-е гг. после обретения им независимости, и был отмечен опережающим ростом сферы услуг (прежде всего финансовых и бизнесуслуг), ставшей основой экономики страны.
The article examines the main directions, stages and results of the process of diversification of the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the twentieth century. The author shows the fundamental role of the oil sector and government policy in the process of diversifying the economy. On the basis of the conducted research the author comes to the conclusion that the process of diversification in the development of Bahrain began in the 1980s, after independence, and was noted faster growth of the services sector (especially financial and business services), which became the basis of the economy.
