In this issue of the annual series of “African Studies” of the Center of\r\nAfrican Studies at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia the main attention of researchers is devoted to the situation of a “new start” as a result of\r\nAfrica’s joining the process of globalization, the experience of the fifty years\r\nof independence in the interests of achieving sustainable development, search\r\nfor new formats and partners in interaction in the post-crisis world, and the\r\neffectiveness of the institutions of integration and international programs on\r\nthe African continent.
