The development of information technology does not stand still. Every year this indicator is growing almost exponentially. The same applies to artificial intelligence. If ten years ago the range of applications of systems based on neural networks was extremely narrow, now it is difficult to find a sphere of life where artificial intelligence would not be used. One of these areas is infrastructure, which has also received tremendous development in recent years. We are talking about a smart city. And one of the reasons for its rapid development is the use of artificial intelligence in it. However, there are no studies that have examined and systematized the contribution of artificial intelligence in smart city systems. At the same time, such information would be very useful for the further development of smart city technologies. The purpose of this study is to provide a structured analysis of the existing literature to identify possible methods for integrating artificial intelligence into a smart city. The information was searched through the SciVerse Scopus database on January 15, 2022. Studies published in English no earlier than 2020 that address the integration of AI into a smart city were accepted for consideration. From the selected articles, different integration methods were selected, divided by social fields, and grouped together. A search for articles returned 657 results. 115 of them met the selected inclusion criteria. Only 30 articles dealt with methods actually used or being designed to integrate artificial intelligence into systems of specific smart cities. From these articles, 63 different cities and 75 ways to integrate artificial intelligence into their smart city components were selected. All methods were grouped according to the spheres of public life in which they are applied. A geographic map showing the regional density of AI integration in smart cities was also created. This study looked at real-world examples of the integration of artificial intelligence systems in modern cities. The main limitations of this work are that only articles in English and only after 2020 were considered. The results of this article will be useful both for analyzing the current level of AI integration in the world and for identifying systems of smart cities, where artificial intelligence is practically not used, which will accelerate its integration.
