National education and science systems in the context of increasing globalization are increasingly integrated into the international scientific and educational space. Every year the number of students increases, including foreign ones. There are many reasons to enter the global education export market: economic benefits for the country, improving the quality of education, international competitiveness of universities and graduates, attracting foreign students, etc. The purpose of the work is to review studies published in the period from 2009 to 2022. This review article reviewed 85 articles, of which 30 were included in the article. The selection of articles was based on the relevance at the moment, proximity to the topic of quality of education and the export of education in general. The articles found consider the topic of exports from the economic side, the benefits of countries, the motivation of students to enter the institute, as well as the quality of education. The world university rankings are considered as an important tool for assessing the quality of higher education. There are several media outlets that publish world university rankings every year. The studied works were classified according to the subtopics that help to understand the correspondence between the quality of education and its export: the reasons for entering the education export market, the quality of exported education, university rankings, methods of attracting foreign students, motivation of students to enroll in a foreign university. There are also a number of articles that are not systematized under a single category, but are important for understanding the topic. The analysis demonstrates the problem of the lack of a clear relationship between the quality of education, namely its increase, and the export of education. The export of higher education is carried out primarily for economic benefit and interethnic relations. But in order to survive in the global market, you need to have high quality because of the abundance of competitors in this area. Therefore, the export of education can signal its high quality and compliance with academic standards. Also, already being on the world stage of education, the education system is improving, new projects are being created, new methods of attracting foreign students, etc. The results of this review can be used by the specialists while planning the strategy of the education export market development.
