EXPERIENCE OF IMPLEMENTING HE EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY SYSTEM

This article examines the concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), an effective resource management tool by which manufacturers take responsibility for end-of-life management of used products. The benefits and environmental motivations for the introduction of the EPR system were studied. The legislative basis for the development of the EPR of the European Union and the Russian Federation is considered. In fact, the Russian EPR system reproduces a foreign analogue, but has many shortcomings, which leads to inefficiencies in its functioning. In general, the EPR system is one of the most effective economic mechanisms for reducing the negative impact of industrial activity on the environment.
