Principles and methods of semantic analysis of political discourse

The essay gives a definition of political discourse, using concrete examples to analyze its own linguistic component and its connections and conditionalities by extralinguistic factors. Possible methods of discourse research are discussed, in particularly, the adequacy of the use of quantitative and qualitative methods in the analysis of the semantics of the tests of the discourses of the representatives of the authorities, understood in the broad sense. Sentence analysis methods help to reveal the implicit and explicit structures of discourse, to reveal the illocutionary intentions of actors in communication situations defined as political discourse. Political discourse, whether oral or written, plays an important role in influencing society, because it, in fact, affects all sectors of society and is widespread. It is the link between power and the people, which provides politicians with the opportunity to convince people, influence them and guide them towards their goals.
