INTRAOSTEAL BLOCK AS PATHOGENETIC TREATMENT OF PRONOUNCED NEUROLOGICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF LUMBAR OSTEOCHONDROSIS

Basing on the original and literature data, the author analyzes causes of rare application of intraosteal block (IB) in managing neurological manifestations of lumbar osteochondrosis (NMLO). IB is believed efficient and pathogenetically validated. A conception is suggested on intraosteal receptors and vessels participation in spinal osteochondrosis pathogenesis and neurological symptoms of such osteochondrosis. NMLO in 24 patients was treated with IB which permitted 20 of them to avoid scheduled surgery after inefficient conservative treatment. Details of IB usage are presented (indications, contraindications, regimens, pharmacology).
