UNA APROXIMACIÓN A LA NATURALEZA DEL EJÉRCITO DEL PUEBLO PARAGUAYO (EPP)

El presente artículo analiza el caso del Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP), una organización guerrillera que desde hace una década opera formalmente en el norte de la región oriental paraguaya. A pesar de la difusión mediática de sus acciones, los trabajos especializados sobre el EPP no son abundantes. Consecuentemente, aquí se pretende contribuir al tema analizando a la organización como una insurgencia defensiva relativamente débil con inimaginables perspectivas ofensivas, aunque difícilmente expugnable debido a las condiciones históricoespaciales que le dan existencia. En la introducción se describen los rasgos elementales del EPP, luego se presenta una aproximación sobre su ontología, para finalmente exponer la necesaria síntesis.

AN APPROXIMATION OF PARAGUAYAN PEOPLE'S ARMY (EPP)

This article analyses the case of the Paraguayan People's Army (EPP), a guerrilla organization that for a decade has formally operated in the north of the eastern region in Paraguay. In spite of the media diffusion of its actions, specialized works on the EPP are scarce yet. Therefore, it is intended to contribute to the issue by analysing the organization as a relatively weak defensive insurgency with unimaginable offensive perspectives, although EPP is barely defeated due to the historical-spatial conditions. In the introduction are described the elementary features of the EPP, then is explained a hypothesis about its ontology, to finally expose the necessary synthesis.
