El presente artículo analiza los principales aspectos que hacen a la temática de las Políticas Públicas en América Latina. En los últimos 30 años la región ha experimentado la práctica de un nuevo paradigma vinculado al manejo del Estado desde la óptica de la eficiencia, la instiucionalidad y la incorporación democrática de otros actores a este proceso. El ciclo de expansión económica actuál ha traido consigo importantes logros como la reducción de la pobreza, producto de la aplicación efectiva de un conjunto de Políticas Sociales. Són las “buenas políticas públicas” suficientes para lograr un mayor bienestar y alcanzar el desarrollo?
