Технологическая характеристика кузнечных изделий из древнерусского города Вщиж

An archeometallographic study of iron items from extramural part of the ancient Russian town Vshchizh was carried out with the aim of expanding the analytical base on blacksmith items from small towns of Ancient Rus. The collection consisted of 41 items, the bulk of which were knives. As a result of the analysis, a conclusion was made about a fairly high level of blacksmithing in Vshchizh and a certain similarity with iron processing in other small towns.
