UNIVERSITY-BASED TRANSLATOR TRAINING: NEW TENDS IN CURRICULUM DESIGN

The paper analyses the current state of affairs as far as university-based translator and interpreter training curricula are concerned. Some key principles and aims are highlighted. The need for multi angle analysis at different levels, including international, national, industry, university level is justified. MA in Legal Translation and Interpreting Program that has been launched at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia is taken as an example.
