Copper(II) and Iron(III) Complexes with 2-Amino- And 2-Iminopyrimidinoanthrones

Copper(II) bromide and iron(III) chloride complexes with 2-phenylaminopyrimidino[4,5,6-d,e]anthrone and l-methyl-2-p-tolylpyrimidino[6,5,4-d,e]anthrone were prepared. The metal : ligand ratio in the complexes was 1 : 1 and 2 : 1. On the basis of spectroscopic data and calculations by the Pariser-Parr-Pople method, the coordination modes of the ligands to the metal cations or protons are suggested.
