The paper focuses on the specialized training for professionals who deal with victims of sexual abuse and exploitation. The research materials included international and national legislation if force regarding Member States to the Lanzarote Convention, their replies to general and thematic questionnaires on the issue under study. The study rested on the comparative analysis of the above mentioned sources and provisions therein. The paper also provides information about state of affair in the Russian federation with regard to the Lanzarote Convention requirements. The research findings made it possible to draft recommendations on a number of issues, including careful research of potential audiences that should be subject of specialized training to protect minors, interdisciplinary approach to training on child sexual abuse, development of standards for professionals' training, Academia's engagement in professionals' training, professionals' training in the field of communication skills and procedural matters regarding all stages of minor victim treatment, etc.
