The paper presents an experience of the last few years of implementing new information technologies in teaching a foreign language as well as forming journalists. Journalistic texts about urgent environmental issues have been explored. Some Euronews sci-tech information has been carefully chosen to be analyzed at the lesson in order to reveal ways to make the text professionally adapted for an audience in English, French and Russian. Topics crucial for the understanding of modern Russian, French and English civilizations have been revealed, cultural and historical knowledge about modern France, UK and USA and Russia has been showed introduced in an explicit and implicit manner. The study results in building exercises using ICT. Methods and techniques to identify cultural layers in a non-fiction text have been provided. The practical application of the research is in practical training of future ecologists in foreign language and, on the other hand in training of young journalists which intend to work in the multicultural and multilanguage editions.
