Institution of citizenship in the british empire of the 17th - 19th centuries

In the present article, the authors investigate the history and features of the institution of citizenship of the British Empire. The authors investigate the normative regulation of the institution of citizenship, the grounds for its acquisition and the obligations of the subjects of the Crown. Based on the results of the research, the authors identify the prerequisites of this period that had a historical impact on the modern legal regulation of the evolved institution of citizenship in Great Britain in the context of the establishment of the institution of constitutional monarchy in Great Britain. © 2021, Rossiiskaya Akademiya Nauk, Institut Istorii (Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of General Hist.
