Ensuring aircraft transportation safety using a satellite radio navigation system

In order to ensure the safety of category I landing, systems using the signals from satellite radio navigation systems (SRNS) are widely used. Extensive studies on aircraft landing are performed in order to meet the requirements for category II and III landing. An important direction for improving the systems ensuring landing approach safety is to increase the accuracy, availability, continuity, and integrity of aircraft landing support. The evaluation of data processing efficiency implies the development of the following: 1) methods to evaluate the characteristics of navigation support for categorized aircraft landing using SRNS; 2) algorithms for the spatial and temporal selection of signals and their influence on the errors in estimating differential corrections in local area augmentation stations (LAAS) as well as errors in estimating pseudoranges in the airborne SRNS user equipment, taking into account the impact of external simulated clutter; 3) signals reflected from the structural elements of the aircraft or airfield facilities. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
