Institutions of Russian Emigration in Latin America (1920-1930s)

The article runs about the processes of institutionalization among the Russian emigration in the countries of Latin America in the 1920s and 1930s. It is revealed how the phenomenon of "displaced statehood" manifested itself on the example of activities of the Russian diplomatic missions existing for some time in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico. The article reconstructs the process of self-organization of the diaspora, which was able to compensate the lack of relevant institutions in the recipient countries resulting in the creation of military, political and charitable organizations, also a network of youth and cultural and educational communities that reproduced the traditions of the Russian army and charity and, on this basis, applied new adaptation practices. The article presents the Russian Orthodox Church in Latin America as the most important structural element of the Russian Diaspora.
