The influence of adsorption of thiosulfate ions and pyridine from aqueous solution on the electronic state of silver and copper-silver particles was studied. Variations in the effective concentration of conduction electrons in particles and in the damping coefficient of plasma oscillations of these electrons was found through an analysis of absorption spectra of these systems by the Mie and plasma-resonance absorption theories. It has been found that these parameters vary more sharply for adsorption on silver particles than on copper-silver sol particles.
