WHOLENESS (IN reversible arrow OF) MULTIPLICITY: THE ANDREI BELY STUDIES BY EVA MALITI-FRANOVA (ON A NEW MONOGRAPH ANDREJ BELYJ /CELISTVOST (V) MNOHOSTI. BRATISLAVA, 2018)

The monograph "Andrey Bely. Wholeness of (in) multiplicity", on the one hand, is the logical continuation of the research by E. Maliti-Franova; on the other hand, the book gives an opportunity to look into the secret of the "alchemy of translation", the creative laboratory of the scientist, virtuoso translator and playwright. E. Maliti-Franova introduces not only new texts and facts into the scientific and cultural life of Slovakia, but also previously unknown assessments, opinions, judgments of Russian scientists, publicists and philosophers, immerses the reader in the "St. Petersburg myth" of Russian literature. All this requires her to find rare words, expand the meanings of familiar words, and sometimes create neologisms. In general, the creation of strong "lexical bridges" between Russian and Slovak cultures, the development of new spaces in the Russian culture of the Silver Age by the Slovak language is a special facet of E. Maliti-Franova's work both as a translator and as a writer and playwright.
