Статья посвящена истории первого перевода на русский язык книги Виктора Куассака «La Conquête de l'Espace» в 1989 г. Приводится краткая справка о жизни и деятельности Куассака, история выполнения перевода и обоснование выбора русского заголовка - «Покорение космоса», а также текущий статус доступности выполненного перевода в научном обороте.

The article is devoted to the history of the first Russian translation of the book by Victor Coissac «La Conquête de l'Espace» in 1989. Article contains a brief summary of the life and work of Coissac, the history of the translation and the rationale for the choice of the Russian title - «Conquest of space», as well as the current availability status of the completed translation in scientific circulation.
