The paper investigates trends in the development of digitalization of agriculture. In particular, the ways to save production costs and structural units of the system of "smart agriculture", namely: "smart greenhouses", "smart farms", logistics optimization, management of raw materials; identified their competitive advantages, as well as barriers to the development of these innovations in the practice of agricultural enterprises. Attention is paid to the actual problem of software development in the field of digitalization of crop rotation management, in particular reducing the routine work of the agronomist on the preparation of agrotechnological maps.
