Predicting the surface quality in discontinuous cutting

A method of predicting the quality of the machined surface in discontinuous cutting is proposed on the basis of the simulation of multitooth machining, for the example of broaching. This method permits precise calculation of the surface quality obtained. The best machining conditions are determined. Wellfounded identification of the geometric parameters for the cutting teeth in a multitooth tool is described. © 2015, Allerton Press, Inc.
