In the article the results of the study in changes of the antioxidant-prooxidative status of the oral liquid in patients suffering from the secondary adentia before and after treatment including the dental implantation have been presented. The determination of functional indices of the enzyme link of antiradical protection and the content of the products of the oxidative modifications of biomolecules has revealed the developing imbalance in the pro/antioxidant system. In 6 months after the dental implantation and the restoration of the dentitions in all researched patients the significant positive changes in the prooxidant-oxidative system of the oral liquid have been detected. So, the thiobarbituric index of the oral liquid in patients suffering from the adentia of 1-3 teeth has decreased to the level of the same index of the patients in the control group while in patients suffering from the adentia of 4-6 teeth it has remained higher than the control level but has decreased by 25,6% in comparison with the indices before treatment. Thus, the treatment by means of the dental implantation possesses a positive influence on the metabolic processes in the oral cavity. The biochemical studies in the oral liquid may be possibly used for the effectiveness monitoring of the therapy of dental disease.
