Russian liberal K. D. Kavelin in modern Russian historiography

In the analytical work the authors present a review of the modem Russian historiography devoted to the theorist of liberalism - Konstantin Kavelin. In the historiographical tradition, there are still no unambiguous and generally accepted judgments about the views of K. Kavelin, his role in the development of the social movement in Russia, especially in the conditions of post-reform modernization, which makes the task of summarizing the historiographical experience urgent and opens new prospects for further research.
