MASTER PROGRAMS TAUGHT IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES: STUDENTS' EXPERIENCE IN RESEARCH

The paper focuses on students' experiences regarding their research activities within their studies on a MA course taught in a foreign (English) language. The supervisors' opinions are also subject to investigation to hear voices of both parties involved in the educational process. The research hypothesis argues that challenges to research quality in a foreign language taught master degree course go beyond language issues and concern the overall students' skills related to research activities and methodology. The research methodology combines desk and field studies, integrates literature review and qualitative content analysis of target audiences' opinions. The research lasted from 2014 to 2017 and took place at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). The research findings confirmed the research hypothesis and laid grounds for a number of recommendations to enhance research quality within MA course that is taught in a foreign language. The publication has been prepared with the support of the RUDN University Program 5-100.
