The sulfur activity trend inversion in the ore solution and its effect in the gold-quartz deposits formation (example of the Verkhne-Indigirsk district, Yakutia)

Sulfur regime inversion in the hydrothermal solution is revealed upon study of crystallization sequence of ore minerals in the gold-quartz deposits. It consists in growth and following drop of hydrothermal solution μH2S on the background of the general temperature and salt concentration lowering. The drop of the μH2S below equilibrium of burnonite + pyrite = galenite + chalcopyrite results in gold deposition. It is inferred that the gold deposition occurs due to decomposition of Au sulfide complexes via dilution of the hydrothermal solutions with the meteor waters.
