About the identification of flat unclosed curves

In this paper we investigate questions related to the process of identification of flat curves invariable to 2D affine transformations. The number and type of features, which must be used to construct the mathematical description of curves in the recognition process, are also discussed. Metrics, which allow identifying the unclosed curves, are also introduced. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. 2008.
