Potential Use of Ultrasound for Subcutaneous Delivery of Anesthetics

A new ultrasound-intensified method of local anesthesia is described and compared to existing techniques of local anesthesia. The results of the analysis demonstrate that the lidocaine-mediated local anesthesia intensified by ultrasound increases the pain threshold by 50-75%. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
